Oblivion

Oblivion- Bastille
Oblivion, just one of Bastille's many masterpieces is a beautifully composed song of depth and meaning. A very short song with very much power. In the song he states "Are you going to age with grace? Are you going to age without mistakes?," obviously speaking to someone close to him, someone loved only wanting nothing but good intentions and a perfect future. With intentions to combine heartfelt words and a song of admiration and beauty Bastille does just that. Not even to mention the name of the song "Oblivion." Oblivion means being unconscious or unaware of things that are happening, it is more than likely that the writer of this piece is trying to rid his loved one of oblivion, as they are stuck in it. It is also likely that his loved one is suffering through something causing him to want to be unaware, to want to be oblivious and unfeeling but all the writer wants is to bring him out of the indescribable place he is in. The writer is also wondering if his loved one will ever be granted the ability to make it out of the oblivion the person is stuck in as the writer states "are you going to age with grace? Or only to wake and hide your face," as the writer tries to get their loved one out of the place they are in. Overall, Oblivion is a song of love and suffering that is not to be over looked.
